When should I book my maternity session?
It’s never too soon to schedule your session. I typically book 6-8 weeks out. Weekends fill out the fastest, so if you need a weekend I would suggest booking earlier to make sure you get a weekend spot.
When should the session take place?
Maternity sessions are best between 28-34 weeks. This is gives us that perfect baby bump shot and you are still “comfortable.”
Where will we do the session?
Most maternity sessions take place at your home or we find an awesome location outside. I love natural light so parks, urban areas, downtown, or fields make great locations. I am happy to suggest locations for your session. If we shoot indoors at your home, I will need ample light. Do you have large bay windows or sliding glass doors? We can also do a combination of both indoor and outdoor images.
What should I wear?
Maternity sessions work best with an outfit that is tight-fitting around the belly. I love maxi dresses/dresses for session or tight-fitting tank tops and maternity tops look great. Other suggestions: yoga skirt, jeans with a bandeau to show off that bump, hats, Tutus, cowboy boots, or scarves. Keep the patterns to a minimum. Solids look best and do not detract attention away from that beautiful belly. We can incorporate outfit changes.
I also have wraps, silk body scarves, and gowns that can be used.
Can I include my family in the session?
Absolutely! Most of my maternity sessions include family members as well.
Do you provide an online gallery?
You bet! I will provide at least 25 images in your online gallery, often more for a full session. Client galleries are available for review approximately two weeks after a session.
Do you photograph in both color and black and white?
Yes. I will show a couple images in your gallery in black and white.
Do you sell digital files?
Yes, each session comes with digital files. You have the ability to purchase additional files at $35/each or the entire gallery for $700. You also have the ability to purchase prints from my professional lab.
